NEC election success

Candidates supported by the Centre-Left Grassroots Alliance have been successful in the NEC elections. Four out of six CLGA candidates were elected on 4 August.

Those elected were Ann Black, Christine Shawcroft, Pete Willsman and Walter Wolfgang.

Commiserations go to Mohammed Azam and Gaye Johnston who were not elected on this occasion.

Taking into account all votes cast, this was the most successful year for CLGA candidates since elections were first held in this format in 1998.

Those elected take up their seats at the end of Conference 2006 for a period of two years.
