Blair's Speech attacked

Tomorrow, John McDonnell MP, a candidate for the Labour Leadership, will refute today's speech made by Tony Blair at the youth conference in Glasgow. Speaking to a fringe of youth delegates from the Labour conference on Saturday, McDonnell will argue that Blair's legacy is one of war and inequality and he will insist that Labour Youth are looking for a different kind of future.

The fringe organised by the Campaign for Socialism as part of the John4Leader campaign will also be addressed by a delegate from the youth conference, Cat Smith, who is standing for the NEC of the Labour Party.

Speaking of behalf of the Scottish John4Leader Campaign Vince Mills said:

'Blair was right to say it will take more than one person to replace him. It will take thousands to make good the harm he has done to Labour's good name at home and abroad. Only John McDonnell MP can make the clean break with new Labour that the Party needs to renew itself and its relationship with the people of Britain and people beyond this island.'
